Where do downloads go on Android?
Updated
On Android, Chrome and most other browsers save files to the Download folder on your phone's storage. Videos and photos there usually show up in your gallery app too, in an album called Download.
The quickest way: Chrome's download list
- In Chrome, tap ⋮ at the top right, then Downloads.
- Tap a video to play it, or press and hold it to share or delete it.
Right after a download finishes, Chrome also shows a message at the bottom of the screen with an Open button.
In the Files app
Downloads are saved in the Download folder on the phone's internal storage. How you get there depends on the phone:
- Files by Google (Pixel and many other phones): open it and tap Downloads.
- Samsung phones: open My Files, then Downloads.
- Other phones: open the file manager, choose internal storage, then the Download folder.
In your gallery or Google Photos
Most gallery apps pick up downloaded videos and photos on their own, in an album named Download. In Samsung Gallery, tap Albums and look for Download.
In Google Photos, open Collections (called Library in older versions) and find the Download folder among the folders on your device.
ZIP files from Download all
Download all saves a post's photos and videos as one ZIP. Open it in your Files app, tap it and choose Extract. The files land in a new folder next to the ZIP, and your gallery picks them up from there. Until you extract it, nothing in the ZIP appears in the gallery.
Other browsers
Samsung Internet, Firefox, Edge and Opera also save to the Download folder unless you change it. Each has a Downloads item in its menu that lists the files it saved. If you added PastePull to your home screen from Chrome, its downloads go to the same place as Chrome's.
Can't find a download?
- Search in your Files app for part of the name. PastePull's file names start with the platform, like tiktok_ or instagram_, followed by the account and the post.
- Check Chrome's Downloads list: a download that failed or was cancelled is marked there.
- Look in the right place: some phones save to an SD card when you've chosen one as the download location (see below).
