PastePull

Browser helper

Platforms sometimes limit how often our server may ask for posts. When that happens, the browser helper lets your own browser collect a public post and hand it to us, so you can still download it.

Works with public posts on X and Bluesky.

Public posts only

Before handing anything over, the helper asks the platform for the post without your cookies, exactly like a logged-out visitor. If a logged-out visitor can't see the post, the helper stops. It never reads or sends your login, cookies or account data.

Browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox

The most complete option, and the only one that can save X videos. Open a post and click the PastePull button in your browser's toolbar.

The extension is in store review. Until it's listed, use the bookmark button below.

It can only read the tab you click it on, it only contacts the platforms' public endpoints, and it contains no remote code.

Bookmark button, no install

Works in computer browsers. On X it saves photos and GIFs; X videos need the extension.

  1. Show your bookmarks bar: Ctrl+Shift+B, or ⌘+Shift+B on a Mac.
  2. Drag the button below onto your bookmarks bar.
  3. Open a public post and click the bookmark. PastePull opens in a new tab with the post ready to download.
Save with PastePull

On iPhone or iPad: bookmark any page in Safari, edit the bookmark, and paste the code as its address.

iPhone and iPad: share links to PastePull

A Shortcut adds PastePull to the Share menu of every app, so a link opens here straight away.

Build it in a minute:

  1. Open the Shortcuts app, tap +, and name the shortcut PastePull.
  2. Open the shortcut's details, turn on Show in Share Sheet, and let it receive URLs and text.
  3. Add the action URL Encode and set it to Shortcut Input.
  4. Add the action Text and type https://pastepull.com/handoff/#url= followed by the URL Encoded Text result.
  5. Add the action Open URLs. Now tap Share in any app and choose PastePull.

Frequently asked questions

Does the helper see my account?

No. It reads only the address of the post you have open, and its requests to the platform carry no cookies. We receive the post's media links, never your login or anything else from your account.

Why does it need my browser?

Platforms limit how many requests one server may make. Your browser makes a single request for a single post, just like viewing it, so our server's limit doesn't affect it.

Which platforms does it support?

Public posts on X and Bluesky. More platforms will be added once each one has a dependable way to check that a post is public.
